About Emily
Hello, my name is Emily and I am a recently graduated high school student with 2 years of tutoring experience through the Escondido Union High School District as a peer tutor. I tutored students during after school tutorial programs for approximately an hour 2-3 times week. The most amazing part of the job was watching me peers retake and pass tests that they initially didn't understand. Essay writing has always been my strong suit, and I often helped students and peers express their ideas more clearly and concisely. Many of my peers would turn to me if they had trouble with writing sentences of spelling particular words in their essays.

My approach to tutoring is to ask students questions about what they need help with, what they specifically do not understand, and if they have any ideas on how to fix it. I believe that simply giving someone the answer or writing it out for them isn't enough to improve a student's learning. Asking them questions to help them think and solve problems, even if it is tutoring, can be very helpful for their future within their classes and even in everyday life.
