I approach teaching with two goals in mind: increasing a student's facility with a subject, and increasing their self-confidence in approaching that subject. I firmly believe that it is my job as a tutor to come up with as many different explanations of a topic as possible, and will never tell you that one approach is the "best"! We will focus on the "why" behind a problem, and not only the "how", so that you will be able to apply your new skills in novel ways. Finally, I always recognize my students as complete individuals and can work with them to develop healthy ways to manage academic stress and test anxiety in their busy lives.
I pursuing an MSc in Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing at Oxford and have a passion for tutoring students in STEM subjects! I completed my undergraduate degree in the US at the University of Wisconsin (double major in mathematics. I have six years of experience tutoring math subjects ranging from arithmetic to university calculus, as well as undergraduate biology, general chemistry, and organic chemistry.
If you need to reschedule, please cancel at least 24 hours in advance. 5 GBP/lesson will be charged for traveling to your home.

Biophysical Chemistry Teaching Assistant (Spring 2019, Fall 2019)
As a TA for Biophysical Chemistry, I held weekly office hours to assist students with physical chemistry concepts in both a large group and one-on-one setting. I led discussion sections in which I prepared small lectures to review and re-frame content from the week’s lectures. The course is taken by senior undergraduates and first and second year graduate students.
Greater University Tutoring Service Volunteer Tutor (Calculus I and Calculus II) (2018 – 2019)
As a GUTS volunteer, I tutored small groups and individual undergraduates enrolled in first and second semester calculus, designed mini-lectures to review key concepts from each week of content, and led group problem-solving sessions.
Volunteer Mathematics Tutor (Algebra – Calculus) (2014-2016)
As a maths tutor, I worked with individuals one-on-one to increase facility in foundational maths courses. I designed sample problems to supplement coursework and help students focus on topics that were particularly challenging for them.
Outreach and Service
Dear Future Colleague Mentor (2020 - Present)
As a DFC mentor, I mentor undergraduates one-on-one to assist them in the process of applying for competitive undergraduate and graduate scholarships and fellowships.
American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB), President (2016 –2020)
As President, I sought out academic, research, and study abroad opportunities for 50 active members and volunteer at youth outreach opportunities at the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery. In addition, I organize and execute ASBMB biweekly meetings and formulate long-term regional and national networking goals for the UW Madison chapter.
Beta Beta Beta Biological Honors Society (βββ), Vice President (2016 - 2019)
As vice president, I volunteered at monthly Saturday Science events, designed booths to spark youth interest in science, and implemented outreach activities at the Wisconsin Science Festival. I organized biweekly meetings and mentored underclassmen in research endeavors.
Expanding Your Horizons Conference Group Leader (2018)
At the annual regional Expanding Your Horizons conference, I mentored 10 middle school girls attending a range of STEM workshops and promoted education and careers in STEM fields.
University of Wisconsin - Madison
January 2017 – September 2020
Conducted transcription assays and built computational kinetic models to elucidate the stepwise mechanism of in vitro RNA polymerase transcription initiation.
Mentored 3 students from Fall 2018 - Summer 2020. Designed series of experiments for students to carry out, taught data analysis and interpretation, guided creation of lab meeting presentations.
Wolfson Centre for Mathematical Biology, University of Oxford
Modeled neural crest cell migration with an adapted Cucker-Smale ordinary differential equation model. Our results inform the experimental work of developmental biology collaborators.
