About Sean
Hi! I’m an MSc Biology graduate with a strong background in ecology, environmental science, statistics, and scientific research. Most of my experience comes from hands-on laboratory and field research, where I worked with biological data analysis, scientific writing, experimental design, and data visualization in R.
I know science courses can sometimes feel overly complicated or intimidating, so my goal as a tutor is to make things feel approachable and manageable. I like teaching through clear explanations, relatable examples, and a relaxed, low-pressure style where students can comfortably ask questions and work through problems without feeling judged.
I’m especially comfortable helping with biology, ecology, environmental science, introductory statistics, scientific writing, and research methods at the high school or undergraduate level. Whether you need help understanding course concepts, preparing for exams, working through assignments, or improving scientific writing skills, I aim to make sessions productive, engaging, and actually enjoyable.

My teaching methodology focuses on creating a relaxed and supportive environment, where understanding and problem-solving techniques are emphasized. I also strive to make lessons enjoyable and engaging rather than overly formal or rigid.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to explain difficult scientific concepts in a clear, approachable, and low-pressure way. As someone with teaching experience in biology, statistics, and environmental science, I can help students not only understand course material, but also develop critical thinking and scientific reasoning skills.
I combine conversational explanations, commonly using real-world examples, and drawings to make practice problems, and step-by-step walkthroughs that encourage students to connect course material to practical applications.
My lessons are well suited for high school, college, and undergraduate university students in biology, environmental science, ecology, introductory statistics, and related courses. I am particularly comfortable helping students with scientific writing, research methods, experimental design, and data analysis in R, as well as general study support for biology-related subjects.
