About Emily
My name is Emily and I am a musician. I have been a professional musician since the age of 17, and have obtained a degree in Contemporary Music from the Institute of Contemporary Music in London. I have a Grade 8 Qualification in Vocals as well as a Grade 8 Qualification in Music Theory. I also have Grade 5 in Piano and can play the guitar.
My teaching style mixes both practical approaches with theoretical approaches, so contains a mix of studying through books and using piano to gain a better understanding of the content.
I am friendly and professional, and can help you gain a better understanding of music theory in ways that you understand and feel confident in!

Lessons are offered either over Zoom or can be done in person at my home, or yours if requested and possible.
Lessons are offered weekday evenings and Saturdays throughout the day, and are typically one hour long, though can be longer if necessary and agreed - especially if you're looking to attend less frequently than weekly.
Having studied and taken all music theory grades myself, I have direct knowledge of the learning criteria. We work in book alongside the ABRSM theory workbooks and I also play piano and use this throughout lessons to help students understand. I teach ABRSM music theory and can submit you for examinations in your local area.
Lessons in ABRSM grades 1-5, and I offer lessons to anyone of any age and understanding.
