About Autumn
After years of playing in punk bands throughout the Las Vegas area and ultimately signing a record deal and recording an album with an indie rock/folk band,
I've learned so much not only about all things music but also about myself and life.
I have spent the past year having the privilege of passing on all my knowledge and experience to others interested in learning about music. Whether it be playing guitar, drums, bass, music theory, music production,
or how to get gigs as a band just starting,
or how to make the best of expensive studio time,
or how to run DIY shows, I am excited and eager to have the pleasure of passing on what I've learned and learning alongside others in the process.
I believe first and foremost in the importance of passion and consistently building upon whatever it is that has driven someone to commit to developing themselves as a musician.
I believe in the importance of understanding music as a language, and to do so there are parts of that language such as ear training, rhythm, harmonic structure, etc. that take time and dedication to understand. At the same time, I started playing music because I loved it, not because I wanted to learn about the locrian mode, therefore, it is more important to me that someone has a genuine love and passion for music and sticks with it than it is that they know everything about music theory that there is to know.
