About Alycia
I am a college student planning to get my degree in history, with a minor in education. One day I dream of getting my doctorate degree so I can teach history at a college learning level. My favorite hobbies are reading, writing, and playing with my dog. I have a history of working with kids that started back in 2023 when I got my first job coaching ice skating at a local rink. I've been skating since I could walk and it's another passion of mine. I fell so in love with coaching that I started teaching private lessons, and then I got a job coaching at a gymnastics gym as well. I also work part-time at an elementary school doing before and after school care for the kids who have to be there early. Working with kids is such a rewarding job and I can't wait to help more students learn and succeed.

My lessons are catered to each students specific needs and personalities. The benefit of tutoring is getting lessons that are completely personalized to each individual student. We will go over their homework or assignments, discuss what the student found challenging, and then take it step by step. They are encouraged to ask questions and we can go over it as many times as they need to. I like to incorporate games and unique learning strategies into my lessons to optimize engagement and make it fun! I work mostly with elementary age students but am willing to work with middle school ages as well.
