About Alexandra

I'm a native German speaker from Frankfurt with two years of experience as a German Teaching Assistant at Tufts University, where I've taught beginner and intermediate students. Being half German and half Bolivian, I grew up bilingual in German and Spanish, and I'm also proficient in French and Japanese. This multilingual background gives me unique insight into the language learning process and allows me to support students from diverse linguistic backgrounds. I understand firsthand the challenges and strategies that work when acquiring a new language. My time at Tufts has equipped me with structured teaching experience while reinforcing my passion for making German accessible, relevant, and enjoyable for learners at all levels.

About the lesson

I believe learning German should be enjoyable, practical, and confidence-building. Having grown up in Frankfurt until my teenage years, I bring authentic cultural insights and up-to-date knowledge of German life, politics, and colloquial language to every lesson. Whether you're curious about German slang, want to master everyday conversation, or need to feel more confident speaking, my classes are designed with you in mind.

My Teaching Approach
My lessons are highly conversational and student-centered. I create a relaxed, judgment-free environment where making mistakes is part of the learning process. I listen carefully to your personal goals and adapt my teaching methods to suit your pace, interests, and learning style.

Each session typically includes:
Structured grammar practice – I introduce new grammatical concepts gradually and help you apply them through natural conversation and exercises
Vocabulary building – You'll read carefully selected texts tailored to your level and interests, making learning both relevant and engaging
Cultural context – Gain insights into contemporary German culture that textbooks often miss

Who I'm Best For
My teaching style works particularly well for students who want to develop practical speaking skills, feel more comfortable using German in real-life situations, and learn in a flexible, supportive setting.
If this sounds like the right fit for you, I'd love to help you on your German learning journey!
