About Shanti
Hello!
I am Shanti - very nice to (virtually) meet you.
Being bilingual since birth, I have always been fascinated by languages - different words, sounds and accents to communicate with lots of different people. As I grew up and started to travel this became something I decided to pursue and led me to study French for 9 years (I obtained the Baccalauréat in college) and Spanish for 5 which allowed me to then develop a passion for teaching. I started at 16 and while doing that I independently learnt Portuguese until I achieved a C1 level.
As a patient, calm yet outgoing person I have experience teaching a range of students - from young pupils, college and adults both in Italy and the UK. I love to maintain my passions and actively take part in language exchange workshops and I am eager to connect with you and kickstart a meaningful language journey together!

As a teacher I like to focus on each student's level and goal. Lessons are structured to cover what is most relevant within an hour with a focus on grammar, listening and conversation - through reading magazines/articles of interest, videos, listening, music so that it is more enjoyable and meaningful.
A progression tracker can be developed to assess outcomes vs goals and happy to provide homework or any other creative assessment activity to enhance your language skills!
