Neil - Putney Bridge - Jazz Improvisation

Neil has been a great tutor for me. He has helped me in preparing pieces for my University auditions for which I was successful. I wanted to improve my jazz playing and theory before moving to University, and through some great teaching and practical application, Neil has considerably improved my confidence in performing in this musical idiom. Neil is a really nice, genuine guy, a trait reflected in his weekly lessons and with the fact that in his free time was willing to perform with me in a live event.

Through Neil's tutoring, our son has managed to achieve his Grade 8 in Bass Guitar. Neil has expanded his musical listening as well as incorporating useful elements of theory, sight reading and improvisation, in a fun and practical context. He is continuing to do high level bass work as well as start work on doing an electric guitar grade

Every time I heard a good guitarist I would promise myself to dust off my guitar and play again. This did not happen. I decided to engage a guitar teacher and to my delight, Neil came over to my house and inspired me to learn and play again. Neil's teaching skill and musical talent has given me a real appreciation of the guitar, my instrument will never gather dust again.

Neil is a patient and thoughtful teacher. He makes a point of finding pieces of music that appeal to our daughter and we are delighted with the progress she is making under his guidance.
