I believe that pupils should aim to cover content beyond what is in their syllabus, in order to develop an interest in their later studies. However, exam technique in modern schooling is also a good area to cover and so in areas of particular struggle will cover the best ways to approach an exam question using various memory techniques.
I am a neuroscience student at cardiff university. I gained ABB in my A levels in chemistry, maths, and biology. I have been tutoring for about a year and have further experience teaching kids aged 4-11 at science camps based previously at Imperial College.

Snog Frozen Yoghurt
Between December 2016 and July 2017, I worked 6 days a week at Snog Frozen Yoghurt. This was working in sales and Hosting. The timetabled nature of it, as well as the intensity with which I worked there, I believe show my ability to be professional in a work environment. It also shows that I can be committed to a job for an extended period of time.
As a young adult I coached cricket as an assistant for a club. This again helped me learn that different people function in multiple psychological ways. As well as this it helped me understand the need for balancing the fun of a session with the improvement which has translated into my teaching, as I can cover a duller topic, in the students eyes, in a way that interests them.
Little House of Science
I have worked with Little House of Science for 2 years now. They run camps for 4-11 year olds as well as personal tutoring lessons for older children and teenagers. I have worked on the camps with the younger children in which we cover a range of topics such as animal diversity, geology, engineering, adaptation and more. This has given me experience dealing with large groups of children, as well as learning to explain a concept in multiple ways to fit different understandings. It has made me a better teacher and a stronger student too.
In addition to working for a company I have also worked as a private tutor. I have tutored biology and chemistry for students in their A levels. I find being close to their age good, as it allows me to connect with them and create trust, hence making them work harder and do better. It has also allowed me to develop a teaching style that I think resonates with those aged 16-18.
