About Nicholas
I have significant experience tutoring and teaching. Having worked as a TA and continuing to be a go to for classmates who get stuck on particular problems/topics, I have been told I am an approachable and accessible teacher.
I currently work in a helping profession as a counsellor and am sensitive to the individual learning needs of clients. I teach my clients on a daily basis and have been told that my classes are among the most looked forward to.
I hope to help students not only learn the material but develop a passion for learning. I understand that sometimes one just wants to survive a class but I think deep down a subject can be connected to a students passions. Connecting these two is not only a sign of a good teacher but also the goal I hold in mind regardless of what I may be helping a student with.

I like to teach by example and problem solving drills. I also place an emphasis on showing students how bits and pieces of knowledge tie together - not only in the topic of focus but more broadly. I believe learning can be contagious and even the driest of material can be made excited by connecting it to one’s personal interests.
I like to review fundamental concepts from an area of study and then offer students worked examples. I find by over explaining an example, and showing students the tricks that are sometimes used to make problem solving easier, that they will come away with not just an understanding of the material but also a better understanding of how professors test and how they learn.
