About Elyse
I am a neuroscience graduate with First Class Honours and a minor in chemistry, and I am currently completing a master's in cancer medicine. During my undergraduate degree, peers regularly came to me for help because they found my explanations clear and structured. This showed me I enjoy teaching and can make complex topics feel manageable. I prepare lessons in advance so time is used efficiently and students feel supported by a clear plan rather than improvisation. Tutoring now allows me to apply my scientific training and this approach to support GCSE, A-level, and university students with confidence.

I teach one-on-one lessons that combine clear explanation with exam-style practice so students both understand the material and can perform on tests. I work with GCSE, A-level, and undergraduate students, both those who are currently struggling and those aiming for high marks. I have experience supporting students and peers in science courses: biology (general, cellular, micro), genetics, neuroscience & psychology, and anatomy & physiology. A typical lesson is flexible in length and usually includes structured breakdown of concepts, pattern recognition, and worked examples. I can provide brief optional practice to complete between sessions when helpful, but it is never mandatory. I hold a degree in neuroscience with a minor in chemistry and I am currently completing a master's in cancer medicine.
