About Maia
I am a patient, friendly, and dedicated tutor who wants to help young learners build confidence in speaking and understanding English. I will create a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable participating and making mistakes while learning. My lessons are interactive, engaging, and adapted to each child’s learning style and pace. I will focus on improving vocabulary, pronunciation, conversation skills, and overall confidence while making learning fun and enjoyable for every student because learning is all about having fun while absorbing new information!

My approach as a potential tutor for ESL for young children is focused on creating a fun, supportive, and interactive learning environment where students feel comfortable practicing English. I think children are able to learn best when lessons are engaging, encouraging, and adapted to their age and language level. I hope to build students' confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and basic writing skills through positive reinforcement and interactive activities.
Some techniques I might use:
-Interactive games and activities
-Flashcards and pictures
-Repetition and pronunciation practice
-Songs, storytelling, and role-playing
-Conversational practice to build speaking confidence
Making sure to adjust lessons based on children's ages and skill level and learning style.
A typical lesson might include:
Warm-Up – Greeting the student and practicing simple conversation
Vocabulary Introduction – Teaching new words using pictures and flashcards
Practice Activities – Games, matching activities, or pronunciation exercises
Speaking Practice – Encouraging students to answer questions and use new vocabulary in sentences
Review – Reviewing key words and concepts from the lesson
Closing Encouragement – Praising the student’s progress and ending with a fun activity or goodbye conversation
I will focus on building confidence so students stay motivated and excited to learn English. I also understand that every child learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to fit each student’s personality, learning speed, and interests.
