About Brilee
Hi there! My name is Brilee. I am currently in nursing school and pursuing a career as a Trauma Nurse. All throughout my school years from elementary to now, I have always loved math. Something about the way that these problems always have solutions and the feeling when you finally get there, always sparked an interest in me. I have especially excelled in algebra and even tutored my peers in school.
Alongside tutoring, I have experience being a paraprofessional in classrooms and for families. In school I worked in classrooms with children on the Autism spectrum and into adulthood, I was a caregiver for a special needs child who had to receive her education from home due to her disability. I was the one who had to teach her everything from basic skills to actual educational material. This is relevant because it shows my patience and adaptability to a variety of learning styles and speeds.

My biggest strength, mathematically, is algebra and quantitative reasoning. My approach relies alot on practice problems. I believe that even if a concept seems confusing at first, once you start plugging in the numbers to find a solution, in most cases the pieces start coming together. A typical lesson plan with me will begin with a brief introductory lecture, discussing the topic and/or formulas, followed by a practice problem (demonstrated by only me), then as many practice problems necessary with the student, and close with absolutely any questions they may have. Something that sets me apart as a tutor is the fact that I am still in school, this means that I have learned and still am learning modern ways of teaching. Math always has the same solutions, but the teaching styles are always evolving. Due to my age, I am familiar (and have more than likely been taught!) with modern teaching styles. My lessons are for algebra students of all ages and grade levels.
