About Alexandra
I am beginning my 4th year of teaching ELA in a middle school in Brooklyn. I have been rated highly effective every year since I started, and this has pushed me to give my students more opportunities for creative learning. I truly enjoy my work, and it is very important to me to help students find their way into developing and understanding the skills and lessons I am presenting in meaningful ways.

My teaching method and philosophy is meeting students where they are and providing meaningful, real world applications of skills that can be transferred from the classroom to everyday life. A typical lesson plan would include a warm, guided practice, and an independent practice that would be reviewed and given feedback that we would discuss together. What sets me apart as a tutor is that I not only specialize in the content in which I teach, but I get to constantly create and present new ways engagement that will ensure student growth. My lessons can be modified to meet the needs of students 5th grade to 12th grade.
