About Cameron
I bring a unique blend of academic knowledge, professional experience, and classroom expertise to every lesson. I earned my English Literature degree from SUNY Albany, worked as a writer, reporter, and public relations professional, and later earned my Master’s in Adolescent Education from St. John’s University. For the past 10 years, I’ve helped NYC public high school and middle school students grow as readers, writers, and confident learners. I understand what students need to succeed because I’ve been on every side of the process—as a writer, educator, and mentor. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking risks, and developing the skills they need for success in school, college, and beyond

I believe the best learning happens when students feel challenged, supported, and genuinely excited to learn. As a New York City public high school English teacher with over 10 years of experience, I've worked with students of every ability level, and one thing has always been true: confidence changes everything. My goal isn't just to help students earn better grades—it's to help them become stronger thinkers, writers, and communicators.
Every lesson is tailored to the individual student. We identify strengths, target areas for growth, and build skills through engaging, interactive lessons that encourage curiosity and independence. Whether we're preparing for the SAT, ACT, Regents, honors English, or tackling essay writing and vocabulary, I focus on helping students understand the why behind what they're learning so they can apply those skills long after our lessons end.
I love making English feel relevant and accessible. I often incorporate music, current events, books, and students' own interests to bring reading and writing to life. My students know they're in a space where it's okay to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow. I celebrate progress, encourage perseverance, and push students to reach goals they may not have thought were possible.
My lessons are designed for middle and high school students who want to improve their grades, get ahead before the next school year, prepare for advanced coursework, or build a strong foundation for college. Whether your child needs extra support or is looking to challenge themselves, I'll meet them where they are and help them leave each lesson feeling more capable, more confident, and better prepared for whatever comes next.
