About Sharon
Hi! I’m currently an OCAD University student in Toronto, studying Jewelry Design & Metalsmithing and Textile Design. My background allows me to work across a variety of areas, including drawing, design, mixed media, textiles, jewelry, and three-dimensional work.
Having gone through the OCAD portfolio and application process myself, I understand how challenging it can be to figure out what to include in a portfolio and how to make your work stand out while still showing your own artistic identity.
I enjoy helping students discover and develop their personal art style rather than pushing everyone toward the same aesthetic. I can help with brainstorming original concepts, developing existing ideas, experimenting with different materials and techniques, sketchbook and process development, and building a well-rounded portfolio for art and design school applications.
My goal is to understand each student’s interests, strengths, and future goals and help them create work that genuinely represents who they are as an artist or designer.

Every student has a different artistic style, strength, and goal, so I believe art lessons should be personalized rather than following the same curriculum for everyone.
In my lessons, I will first get to know your current skill level, personal art style, interests, and the direction you want to take with your art. If you are preparing for art school, we will also consider the specific university and program you are interested in so that we can build a portfolio that represents both your creativity and your goals.
I can help you develop original portfolio ideas, strengthen existing pieces, experiment with different mediums and techniques, organize your sketchbook and creative process, and plan new projects based on areas your portfolio may be missing.
As a current OCAD University student, I understand how overwhelming portfolio preparation and art school applications can feel. My goal is not to change your personal style, but to help you develop it further and create a portfolio that feels unique and genuinely represents you.
Whether you are just beginning your portfolio or already have several pieces completed, we can create a personalized plan based on where you are now and where you want to go.
