About Stephanie Michelle

I am a postgraduate student studying Security Studies at Dublin City University, having just graduated from Oxford University last year with a degree in Experimental Psychology.
I am incredibly enthusiastic about chess, starting at just 7 years of age. I became the British girl's Chess Champion at both the age of 9 and 10, and then became the under-18 Welsh Chess Champion at the age of 12. I still love to play, and love the idea of inspiring others to pursue it and get involved in the Chess community as it's truly an incredible experience and a skill that stays with you for life.

About the lesson

My chess lessons will be tailored to any student's current level and abilities, but are aimed at beginners or intermediate level players. A typical chess lesson with me will usually be 1 to 1.5 hours long, and will include teachings on set Openings and Endgame strategies, as well as chess puzzles aimed at developing a player's intuitive understanding of the game.

I have experience tutoring a variety of subjects with the not-for-profit, Tutor the Nation organisation, which helped me develop a very interactive and hands-on teaching style, with lessons that can be tailored to student's specific needs.
