About Meredydd
I’ve been both a classroom teacher and homeschool teacher with nearly 30 years experience in education.
I’ve taught 6th grade (13 years), 5th grade (6 years) and 4th grade (1 year). I am currently in my 3rd year homeschooling my now second grader.
I have taught struggling readers for most of my career and am passionate about helping them grow into confident, life-long readers.
I am currently a Texas certified teacher with a Master’s degree with a focus in literacy.

I try and make lesson as hands-on as possible for my students.
Instruction is based on student needs discovered through conversation with parents, as well as informal assessment so I can individualize our tutoring time together.
Struggling readers & beginning readers will work on phonics skills, developing a strong foundation. Established readers will focus on building comprehension skills.
