About Linh
Debate courses, taught by Linh Dang-Hoang, an accomplished debater and adjudicator at international and national tournaments.
Linh is currently a student at the University of London – London School of Political Science & Economics. Founder and President of the Debate Society at the University of London from 2020-2022, which led UOL teams to compete at the World Universities Debating Championship 2021 Belgrade.
Linh has experiences coaching young debaters in Japan and China and is currently seeking to coach a new generation of aspiring debaters.

Students will explore various themed topics, cultivating in-depth understanding to become an informed global citizen.
I offer 2 types of courses:

• Debate Juniors:
A Novice debating classes for children who are interested in debate and wishes to engage competitively in tournaments.
Suitable for those with solid English communication, 12-15 years old, and wishes to improve their oratory style, effective communication and critical thinking skills.
Students will explore various themed topics, cultivating in-depth understanding to become an informed global citizen.
Learning outcomes: The student will become a developing debater, able to develop a case and maintain a consistent 3-5 minute speech. They will have a conceptual and applicable understanding of the debating fundamentals to pursue the Debate Seniors or Debate Intermediate courses. They will have the option to participate in 1 to 2 local or international tournaments as suitable to the student's development.
Class size: From 4 to 8 students. This class size is maintained for the purpose of team matching (minimum 3 debaters per team + a maximum of 2 reserve members).
Course duration: 15 sessions, 1.5h/session, once per week.
Course syllabus, English version: (concealed information)
* We run the 3v3 debate format, most commonly used for school-aged children. Depending on the student's strengths and suitability, the student will be placed on a team specializing in either the World Scholar's Cup format (4-minute speech) or Asian Parliamentary (7-minute speech).

• Debate Preparatory:
For young children who might be a bit more timid, the Debate Preparatory course is geared towards oratory, critical thinking and interpersonal development.
Suitable for children aged 9-11, or children with English as a Foreign Language. Fully in English, includes in-depth topics parallel to the Debate Juniors syllabus, aims to generate confidence and encouraging students to express their thoughts and opinions in a thoughtful manner.
Course duration: 15 sessions, 1.5h/session, once per week.
Learning outcomes: Students will gain agility in their English language skills, can express their thoughtful opinion and possess the fundamental to pursue the Debate Juniors course. They will have the option to participate in a local or international tournament in the World Scholar's Cup format (4-minute speech, teams of 3), preparing for the official World Scholar's Cup regional and global rounds.

Schedule: Wednesday or Friday weekly, 9PM to 10.30PM (GMT+8). Classes are held online via either Voov or Zoom.
