About Priyanka
I deeply appreciate the field of English Literature and Language as well as all things reading and writing. I have two years of tutoring experience and have a deep passion for helping others to understand course material so they can also appreciate literature as I do. I have an interest in understanding world history and societal issues through the medium of reading and literature. Therefor I spend quite a bit of time reading, understanding the work of several authors and looking at the deeper meaning within the words.
Within my teaching I try to help students understand the deeper meaning as well so that they can get as many marks as possible in their work.

I have a Bachelors degree in English Literature. I have used this degree to tutor for the last two years.
I tutor exam techniques as well as the foundations and finer points of essay writing. This includes structuring and planning essays in order to reach those higher marks. I also work with students in deeper analysis and understanding the text they have been given in order to write their best work. I have tutored a range of boards and find no problem in working through the curriculum with a student till they understand it as well.
Together, we'll help you to get you those extra marks to jump you up a grade or two.
I follow which ever exam board you are studying and work along the timeline of what you are covering in class. This allows me to help you follow up on anything you didn’t quite understand in class, as well as allowing me to help you prepare for tests and exams. If you request we work on something that deviates from this schedule because you need particular help, it is accounted for in timing and scheduling so you won't fall behind.
My lessons are typically 1 hour long.
The structure of my lessons:
The session begins with me asking the student if they are comfortable with what we will be going through today, thus offering them the chance to ask for help on a particular area if they need it (e.g if something they studied at school this week or if they need to prepare for a class test next week).
Throughout the tasks I set for the student in the class time we have, I will always ensure the student understands and has as many opportunities to ask for as much help as they need. The tasks I set include exam questions, close reading, identifying key terms and applying their use in an essay question format. I also go through the mark schemes so the student can understand what is needed to hit those higher marks.
At the end of every lesson I ask the student what their confidence level is in what we've covered and given them feedback so they themselves can understand their areas of work. I will also be sure to measure the students success and areas of work and improve the following lessons accordingly.

Language at the levels of KS1, KS2, KS3, GCSE and A-Level.
