About Faraz
I am an experienced academic and lecturer with over 17 years of teaching in higher education, mentoring students from GCSE through to postgraduate level. I specialise in engineering and artificial intelligence and have supported students across a range of leading UK universities.
Alongside my teaching, I have been involved in academic interview processes and student mentoring, giving me a clear understanding of what universities look for in strong candidates. I focus on helping students develop confidence, think independently, and communicate their ideas clearly under pressure.
My approach is structured, supportive, and tailored to each student, with the aim of helping them perform at their best in competitive university admissions.

I offer structured university interview preparation designed to help students perform confidently in high-stakes academic interviews, including Oxford, Cambridge and Russell Group applications. My approach focuses on developing clear thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to articulate ideas under pressure.
I have experience conducting and supporting interviews across multiple universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College London, Anglia Ruskin University and the University of Lincoln. This allows me to give students realistic exposure to the style, depth and unpredictability of academic interviews.
Sessions typically last 50 minutes and include a full mock interview, followed by detailed, structured feedback on content, communication, and thought process. I work with GCSE and A-level students, particularly those applying for competitive STEM courses.
My focus is not just on preparing answers, but on training students to think critically, stay composed, and demonstrate genuine academic curiosity, key traits that top universities look for.
