About Jake
I have been studying Engineering at Oxford for the past 4 years after having completed the IB in 2018. I've grown up in a bunch of countries including the US, UK, Spain, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. I first began tutoring after I finished school in 2018, and realised how much I loved helping students get inspired by Maths and Physics, and work towards their goals.
At the moment I am taking a year away from my studies to pursue my entrepreneurial ambitions and to just generally get some more life experience. Tutoring is great because it both helps me do this in a flexible manner, as well as meet lots of different students and help them succeed in the IB, and start their own journey into post-school life.

I work with the student to develop a plan which aims to focus on the areas they struggle with, and applies the content and lessons to their future goals and general interests to help motivate them and allow them to see Maths and Physics as useful, interesting and intriguing subjects.
I myself have many interests, including Music and Entrepreneurship, and have always found that my academics thrive most when they are being applied to my direct areas of interest.
My lessons are typically 1 hour long and will consist of systematically working through content, looking at content from different perspectives to develop a full understanding, as well as doing lots of practice questions, and practicing the student's exam technique.
