About Cecile

Hello! I’m Cecile, a medical student at the University of Oxford with a genuine passion for helping students feel confident, supported, and empowered in their learning. I take a professional, patient, and friendly approach to tutoring, aiming to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, exploring new ideas, and building real understanding. Outside of studying medicine, I love staying active as a runner, and I’m a big fan of rugby, both playing and watching. I’m also really into music—whether that’s performing, listening, or going to live gigs—and I find that creativity helps keep me balanced. When I’m not doing any of that, you can probably find me in the kitchen baking, usually as a way to unwind (or more often to procrastinate...) I believe that a tutor should be approachable, encouraging and adaptable. I always tailor my lessons to each student’s needs, pace, and goals, making sure they feel supported and capable every step of the way. Above all, I want my students to feel motivated and confident—not just in the subject, but in themselves. I look forward to working with you and helping you on your academic journey.

About the lesson

My tutoring style is structured, patient, and highly personalised. I begin by identifying each student’s strengths and areas for improvement, then tailor lessons to their goals—whether that’s securing top grades at GCSE or A-Level, or preparing for competitive university admissions. I focus on building deep understanding, not memorisation. I break down complex topics into clear, manageable concepts and use active learning techniques such as exam-style questions, step-by-step problem solving, spaced recall, and targeted feedback. For admissions tutoring, I provide structured guidance on personal statements, interview practice, and entrance exam strategy, drawing directly on my own success in the process. Lessons are typically 1 hour long, with the option to extend if a student prefers longer sessions during exam periods or interview preparation. Each session includes: - a quick review of previous content - teaching of new material - guided practice - exam-style questions - personalised feedback and next steps I am a medical student at the University of Oxford with the following academic achievements: - All 9s at GCSE - A*A*A* in Biology, Chemistry and Maths - Top 1% nationally in the UCAT - Offers from all medical schools I applied to I have experience tutoring GCSE and A-Level students as well as supporting applicants with Oxbridge and medical school admissions.
