MSc in Biology (Integrative-Biosciences) from University of Oxford with more than 7 years of tutoring experience offering my first lesson absolutely free. I give the tutoring according to student needs and capabilities. I give students the work plan to reach A grades. I tutor Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Maths from KS2 upto A-levels.
Tutoring Approach: Comprehensive, combining mentoring and tutoring, establishing motivation, deductive methods for solving problems, tackling questions with ' Pyramid Technique'. Time and stress management in solving problems. Question-based exam preparation.
My teaching style is generally example based but is flexible around the students learning needs. I plan lessons with a particular focus on improving exam technique and what needs to be said in an exam to gain all possible marks.
My teaching method is to start with intuition. In my opinion, the student must first have a rudimentary intuition of the concept before she/he goes into the details or equations of the topic. Thus, we usually start with animations or basic explanations. Then, I answer any questions that the student has, until the student is satisfied with hers/his understanding.
My teaching method is based around each individual student. If you require specific help on certain topics I will tailor the session to you. However, if you need more general help or don't know where to start I can structure a session. I like to provide an overview at the beginning and a summary at the end to reinforce the key learning points.
My name's Cosmo, I am a 20 year old BSc Medical Sciences student at the University of Exeter currently achieving a 1st. I have a passion for teaching, and spent a year before uni as a teaching assistant. I have a depth of knowledge in biological sciences and have experience tutoring GCSE maths.
I understand the importance of achieving the highest grade possible and therefore my tutoring revolves around teaching the syllabus required for the exam. In their first lesson, I ask my students to reveal to me their perceived weaknesses in the syllabus, using a combination of text book, paper and other techniques I will go over this topic with them.
I tailor my teaching to you - science is all about understanding and teaching it is all about helping you understand it. Everyone is different, and the same explanation may not work on two different people. I try to focus on bringing science in to everyday life to show how understanding it can then help us understand the world around us.
Casey Lett - contact on mobile Students can request specific topics they wish the lessons to be based around. Teaching via diagrams and allowing the students to make notes and annotations. Catered to the students needs if visual, kinetic, auditory etc learner.
I'm 20 years old, so it's not that long ago that I was struggling through GCSE and A-Level. I'll be energetic, preparing for your tutorials, and giving you a money back guarantee on the session in case things don't work out. Tutorials will be loosely structured, giving room for you to explore the topics and develop your understanding, while still getting through the material you need to cover.
I am a student of Biological Sciences and give lessons to A level students and below. Lessons are structured by going through assignments, tests or simply areas the student feels ill at ease with to clarify doubts. I tackle the issues from different perspectives to those in school. With recurring students I aim to have targeted approaches in preparation to the lesson.
I would like to give lessons to students taking the GCSE or iGCSE course as a part time job as I have got excellent iGCSE results myself but completely understand the struggle to juggle so many subjects at a time and am here to help! I hope to focus on helping students understand the fundamental concepts and then work on past paper questions to see the point of weakness and develop a study plan...
I am an Oxford University Law Graduate who has also completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma. I am looking to tutor at any level for Law, Biology, History and English. I am also happy to tutor Chemistry up to AS Level or Standard Chemistry Level.
PhD qualified highly experienced tutor and examiner. I have got many books and all the past exam papers. Most of my students have achieved very good result in their exam. I have received an award for Top 3 private tutors in Oxford.
My aproach to teaching is traditional but Interchangeable. Having taught and tutored 100s of children in a school before I can easily adapt to the needs of your child.
My teaching method is very individual - before the first lesson I will have a conversation about areas of strengths and weakness with the student/s and tailor the lessons using this information. I will also take into account the students other commitments and subjects when assigning any prep work, as I think it can be needlessly stressful when given at the wrong time.
The most important factor in learning is interest. With each subject, I aim to find a "hook" for my student which relates the learning material to real world interests and goals, and explains why material is relevant to the real world. Curiosity is the most important factor in ongoing learning, and my aim is to foster a passion which will persist even when my students no longer have my help.
Methodology: face to face discussion and explanation of the topic revision, cheching understanding ability, asking question, giving supportive feedback on student progress, arrange a review section about the past study, prepare a short quiz for a lesson, encourage independent learning...
I am currently in the second year of a biochemistry degree at the University of Oxford. I can teach Biology at any level up to A level, and Chemistry and Maths to GCSE or iGCSE. I will tackle any and all areas of your syllabus which you have identified as needing better explanation (or help you work out which areas to focus on) - I specialise in finding new ways to explain complicated topics.
My classes will be based on your course specification and I will provide methods to learn and retain information. I also offer a breakdown of course content into manageable learning chunks and put particular emphasis on your areas of weakness.
I am an Archaeology student at the Universtiy of Manchester with A levels in Hisory, Biology and Physical Education. Able to teach Biology up to GCSE level and History to secondary school level.
I like to tailor each tutoring session to meet the individual needs of the client; whether that means spending an hour improving understanding of a particular topic, going through practice questions or devising a revision plan to help with exams.
I am an Oxford undergraduate studying biology. I tutor GCSE level, A level biology, english literature and chemistry in one on one settings.
If a student has particular topics that they're struggling with, I prefer to go through the specification with them, and practice exam questions and answer technique.
I am a qualified teacher and i offer tuition to students at KS3 KS4 AND KS5 Biology and Chemistry courses. I use textbook based material and exam questions to focus lessons around exam practice. I use the methodology of teaching that is appropriate to the students indivualised learning needs.
The best way to be taught biology is diagrams, diagrams and more diagrams. With topics such as metabolism I will teach it via constant repetition. Biology is the most visual science out of the sciences, and many topics would include props or going outside too. I would initially focus on the key areas of concern from the pupil then build on this further throughout ongoing lessons.
I believe in student-centred learning, so all of my lessons are tailored to each of my students` needs. I am able to motivate my students to perform to the best of their ability: this is one of the reasons why my students meet their personal goals and achieve good results.
My tutoring will be specification oriented, with an emphasis on proper understanding of concepts and learning extra details to get that top grade! Learning from first principles to make a good foundation for understanding the rest of the materials.
My teaching style is very flexible and based around what the particular student needs. If the student finds a particular topic or area difficult, we can explore the topic together and clarify the students understanding, with the opportunity to ask any questions as we go along. Another scenario could be that exam technique is an issue for the student.
Having done them relatively recently, I am well versed in the GCSE/A-level exam syllabuses, but I am also more than happy to address any other biology-related topics. Whether you'd prefer to go over specific questions, or more broad lessons, I can cater for any preference in terms of structure.
