About Siraj
I'm Siraj, a third-year Medicine student at the University of Oxford. Before Oxford, I completed the IB Diploma with 40/45 points and nine grade 9s at GCSE, so I've been through exactly the exams and application processes I now teach. I've since gained hands-on research experience in cardiology and neuropsychiatry, and I'm currently working on a meta-analysis project with two Oxford professors, which keeps my scientific and statistical grounding sharp and current. I've been tutoring since 2023, helping students with GCSE and A-level/IB sciences and maths, UCAT preparation, and medicine applications, including personal statements and interview coaching for both MMI and traditional panel formats. I got into tutoring because I remember how much a good explanation, delivered patiently and at the right pace, changed my own understanding at school, and I want to offer that same clarity to my students, especially those navigating the competitive and often stressful medicine admissions process.

I'm a third-year Medicine student at Oxford, and I tutor GCSE and A-level/IB Biology, Chemistry and Maths, alongside UCAT preparation and Medicine application support (personal statements and interviews, including MMI and panel/Oxbridge formats). My approach starts with identifying exactly where a student's understanding breaks down, then rebuilding concepts from first principles using past papers, worked examples and exam technique, rather than just running through content. For UCAT and interview prep, I focus on timed practice, structured feedback and mock interviews that mirror real conditions. Lessons typically run 60 minutes but can vary depending on the topic and student's pace. I've been tutoring since 2023, scored 90% in my own Medical Statistics coursework, and understand first-hand the pressures of GCSEs, IB and the medicine application process, having been through it myself.
