About Madeleine
I'm a recent A* A Level candidate attending Oxford University for English Language and Literature with a passion for English which I love to share. With experience as an in-school volunteer tutoring GCSE students online in the pandemic, I have a thorough knowledge of GCSE syllabuses while I can relate to and understand students' issues.

I have a direct, engaging (and hopefully fun!) teaching style, working through set tasks like problems and essay questions with the student to help strengthen their independence. Lessons are built around practical tasks but would be fed with more theoretical learning which boost students into the highest grades.
I have experience with WJEC Eduqas for both English Literature and Language GCSEs. Lessons would focus on the set texts and assessment objectives the student would like to address, and respond to the student's weakest areas by working on exam practice questions and close reading analysis skills needed in the exam. I can also help with essay and creative writing skills, helping with exam time management and planning, while supporting students' revision skills, helping them to plan and focus their time and build their confidence. My ideal outcome would be to encourage struggling students to find aspects of the subject they really enjoy while making sure they can meet academic challenges.
