About Melina
I am currently working towards my Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy teaching qualifications. I am passionate about teaching and want to eventually lecture at the university level.
I am researching cardiovascular development and love having my own unique style of research by having my own unique set of skills.

I have three years’ experience tutoring undergraduate anatomy and developmental biology. I am passionate about student-centred teaching, making complex concepts accessible, and helping students build strong foundations, confidence, and effective approaches to learning.
I am a first-year PhD student at the University of Oxford studying cardiovascular development. I have a first-class honours BSc in biomedical science from King's College London and an A*A*A* equivalent (777 in IB) in Biology, Chemistry and English.
I offer GCSE, A-level and IB biology tutoring as well as first/second year undergraduate tutoring in anatomy and developmental biology topics.
Lessons typically last 30 minutes to 1 hour, but I am happy to discuss and accommodate to personal needs and preferences.
My teaching approach is student-centred and adaptable, using active recall, visual learning and problem-based questioning to encourage genuine understanding rather than memorisation. I break complex topics into manageable concepts and use application-based examples to build confidence and independent problem-solving skills.
Native English and Greek speaker.
