About Mia-Violet
I am a 25y/o painter and sustainable bio-based material researcher based in London. I graduated from UAL with a first in Interaction Design Arts in 2021. I have been running making workshops since 2017 and had my first 3 oil paintings commissioned when I was 18. I have 2 years of experience in care roles, as well as currently working part-time for a leading regenerative material R+D-led manufacturing company.
I'm an extremely kind and welcoming teacher, with a strong determination for my students and myself.
I sell both commissions and other airbrushed items.

My method of teaching is always catered to the student's needs and abilities. I like to start by understanding the student i.e. how they draw, what they like to draw, how they think and learn and what they want to learn. Once I have an understanding of that I can begin to form a lesson plan.
Depending on the level and style of the student each plan will be completely unique, but the main aim is to be developing as much as we can. With my understanding approach, I am sure we will see results rapidly.
I have been running a Drawing Club since 2022, and making workshops since 2018. My bi-weekly drawing clubs focus on collaborative drawing and the fantasy theme. We warm up with an imagination exercise and then move on to observational drawings. Finishing off with some form of collaborative drawing/painting. Whether it be small or extra large, more than one person should have helped create it.
I would like to bring a similar teaching to my individual lessons. Warming up with both imagination and technical development. Finishing off with a focused activity based on the student's needs.
I currently specialize in oil painting, pencil drawing, and airbrushing. I also have experience in 3D modeling, digital drawing, biomaterial making, making your own inks and paper, painting on textiles, and smart textiles. I can also provide advice on what materials to source, local life drawing classes, exhibitions, and other additional resources to further yourself as a budding artist.
I teach Monday to Wednesday 6-9 pm or Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday 9 am-6 pm. Currently taking on students who are beginners or have been out of practice for a little while.
