It's so basic as I'm a student myself that's why I somewhere know that where a tutor needs to put sort of extra efforts to pacify their students..
And I could probably achieve this by doing the following things in order to ease the student's learning process -
*First ask students do they have any prior knowledge of the said topic, if yes then explain to me in your way.
if not (in most cases, obviously) then I would try my best to explain that particular topic by illustration, diagrams wherever possible, real-life examples you know sort of connecting examples etc....m
