About Lewis
I started out playing guitar after hearing some old records, but the real turning point was when I first heard Jimi Hendrix, where I became obsessed with the man and his music. This obsession naturally lead me down a path tracing his roots and finding out what inspired him the way he inspired me. I have spent my twenties ‘digging out’ blues artists from as far back as the 1920s to current day, including the blues/Jazz crossover. In 2012 I made the decision to dedicate the rest of my life to music and this resulted in me studying music performance and production for two years at High Melton College in Doncaster, where I received a diploma. I then went on to study a BA in Professional Musicianship in guitar at the British and Irish Institute of Modern Music (BIMM) in Brighton, where I graduated in September 2017. Along with my passion for performing and playing the guitar I am equally as passionate about teaching and inspiring others and helping them get closer to their own ideal and realise their own individual artistic expression. While Blues is a particular interest of mine, I am also passionate about many styles and genres of music. In summary, I am looking for a life long career in this beautiful art form.

I have been studying music for the last 20 years, most recently completing a BA in Professional Musicianship and a Teaching, Learning and Assessment module at the British and Irish Institute of Modern Music (BIMM). I am very passionate about embarking on a lifelong career in music and I consider the role being advertised would be one which would enable me to fulfil that passion and my desire to inspire others in their quest to learn and understand music.
