About Margaret
Hi there! I’m a passionate, extremely patient, and energetic tutor based in Joburg. If there is one thing you should know about me right off the bat, it’s that my world revolves around kids!
I work with children on a daily basis and spend my weekends serving in my church’s kids' ministry with the wonderful (and beautifully chaotic!) 4 and 5-year-olds. My absolute passion in life is creating space for children to feel safe, confident, and deeply loved while they learn.
If you are wondering where I get my endless patience from—I was born for this! I have two younger siblings (ages 14 and 12), plus an amazing crew of 3 nieces and 5 nephews ranging all the way from 1 to 15 years old. Being surrounded by kids of all ages means I know exactly how to connect with your child, no matter their stage of life.
When I’m not teaching or tutoring, you can find me enjoying my favorite hobbies:
Baking & Reading: Getting lost in a good book or whipping up something sweet in the kitchen.
Yoga: How I keep my mind centered, calm, and ready for action.
Crafting & Embroidery: I love working with my hands and creating beautiful things from scratch!

As a PR professional with extensive experience working with children, I know that no two kids learn the same way. My unique strength is adaptability; I don't use a cookie-cutter approach. Instead, I dedicate our first sessions to figuring out your child’s specific learning style—whether they are visual, auditory, or hands-on. By understanding exactly how your child's brain processes information, I tailor my teaching to make English intuitive, highly engaging, and fun.
I am fully proficient in English and conduct all my lessons in clear, articulate English to help build natural fluency and conversational confidence.

Lessons are dynamic, patient, and designed to eliminate the fear of making mistakes. A typical session balances targeted grammar or reading fundamentals with interactive, practical exercises. We focus heavily on active participation, vocabulary building, and school curriculum alignment, ensuring every lesson leaves your child feeling capable and proud of their progress.
My lessons are aimed specifically at Primary School learners (Grades 1 to 6) in the Johannesburg area.
Whether your child is struggling to keep up with schoolwork, preparing for English assessments, or simply needs a patient environment to build up their spoken and written confidence, I adapt my pacing to match their exact learning level.
