About Serena
Hi! I'm Serena, a passionate educator and provisional psychologist with a strong interest in supporting children who learn differently. I love working with children as I get to see them grow and develop through life. Tutoring is one of the many forms I can support a child's growth and it brings me joy to see children's self-belief and capabilities develop over time. I bring a calm, gentle presence and always aim to make sessions feel safe, fun, and encouraging. If you’re looking for someone who truly understands learning differences and brings both clinical insight and classroom experience, I’d love to work with your child :)

I take a warm, gentle, and fun approach to tutoring, with lots of positive reinforcement to build your child's confidence and love of learning. Every lesson is designed to be engaging and encouraging, tailored to your child’s unique needs and learning style
I specialise in helping primary school-aged children (6–12 years old) who experience specific learning difficulties, such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, or dysgraphia. I recommend 2 sessions per week for consistency, but I’m happy to be flexible based on your goals. Sessions are available in 30, 45, or 60-minute blocks—whatever works best for your child.
I'm trained in Sounds-Write, a highly effective, evidence-based phonics program, and have over 3 years of experience working as a teacher aide. I am also a current provisional psychologist, where I’ve supported neurodivergent learners and conducted assessments for specific learning disorders (SLDs).
Across my career in education, psychology, and support work, I’ve worked with a wide range of children—including those with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other learning differences. My approach is always compassionate, strengths-based, and personalised, helping your child feel seen, supported, and successful.
