About Polly
I have always loved music, and for me there is no better feeling than when you cross new personal boundaries with music, whether it be getting through the chords of your favourite song for the first time, being able to jump into a piece of music and find you are able to comfortably improvise, or opening up new doors to understand how music creates the feelings it does.
I have experience playing in a number of different groups, guitar is my core instrument, but I am also a competent bass, vocals, and keys player - I believe it is good to understand multiple instruments so as to make communication with other musicians easier.
I also have experience in production both in a studio and diy "at home" capacity, as well as scoring and sound work for film.
I love to learn and explore new areas of music through playing, and I always valued my guitar teacher's lessons when I was younger. I would love to hand down the knowledge and inspiration of playing to others, and to learn more myself through teaching.

My lessons will last between 50 minutes and an hour, and are aimed towards beginners and intermediate players of all ages.
In guitar I have often found the best way to learn is through guided experimentation using improvisational techniques, and playing with others. I am very open to different styles of learning, although I prefer to use the ears, eyes and the memory, as I believe that to be able to recall the information in your mind and muscle memory will leave you with a stronger intuition for creative playing.
In my opinion the most important part of playing any instrument is to enjoy it, I am very open minded and I will never tell someone what they have played is "wrong", so long as it feels good to play you're doing it right!

Jack and I have been playing guitar together in musical projects for 5 years now. In this time he has helped me greatly with learning the essentials, ranging from simple scales, playing technique, and onstage confidence. He is a very experienced musician/performer with a lot of curiosity, and has helped me expand my skills in a way that is both patient and genuinely exciting.
