Richard is an experienced, enthusiastic and detailed tutor who enjoys helping his students reach their academic goals across both Physics and (Further) Mathematics from GCSE upwards, and is well-placed to also provide degree-level tuition in Physics. Richard has several years tutoring experience and was St Edmund Hall’s Access Officer, which has helped create a successful track record in mentoring students during their application for Oxbridge Physics courses. I have tutored 9 students over the past year, focusing largely on Oxford's PAT admissions test in 1-1 mentoring sessions, as well as running a week-long PAT masterclass in a group setting. I typically give weekly 1hr lessons, however I am happy to adjust the length, and frequency of sessions to suit the student.

Richard tutored my daughter for her Further Maths A level and also her Oxbridge entrance exams. He was an excellent teacher - well prepared, highly competent and exceptional at explaining trickier maths concepts. He had a very calm, patient manner and a genuine interest in helping my daughter succeed. I could not recommend him highly enough.
Can’t speak highly enough of Richard. He guided my daughter through A level physics, maths and further maths (and the PAT test). Steadily built her confidence and was always available to help with questions causing particular trouble. Very highly recommended!
Richard has been invaluable to developing both my maths and physics skills! His clear explanations and vast knowledge have completely changed the way I approach problems! His lighthearted approach made all sessions enjoyable and he couldn’t do enough to help! Thank you!
Richard was fantastic with my daughter in the run up to her Oxbridge entry exam. He was kind, calm and reassuring whilst ensuring he pushed her in each and every session. He gave her relevant homework and feedback after every session which cemented what she was learning. He also encouraged her to believe in herself, at a time when she was putting herself under immense pressure, with his positivity and engaging personality. It was Richard's tutoring that pushed her to the next level.
