I try to use simple approaches that are interactive but thorough. I make sure there is a step by step grasp of the subjects by my students. I use progressive challenges to test understanding and would often have major assessments to ascertain total grasp of modules.
I prefer to explain the key points of the topic to my students first and then make them understand by giving some examples. I will assign some problems for homework as well.
My teaching method usually involves setting a set of very relevant exercises and then working through the questions related to them. I think the best way to learn the theory is by practising and at the same time my previous experience showed me that everything should be explained thoroughly.
My teaching method is very thorough and includes going over topics until my students understand the subject inside out rather than superficially. This makes their performance in exams and tests far higher and improves their confidence in school. I like to find out more about each student and how they enjoy learning, adapting my techniques to fit how their brain works.
I would adjust my lesson structure according to the student, but in general I would go over some previous quizzes and tests to identify any problems. After addressing these points, I would go through sample questions as practical application solidifies understanding.
Before lessons begin I ask for your exam board so that I can prepare material based on the most recent specification. Lessons occur topic by topic so that there is an easy to follow structure to lessons. Initially, we run through the material and identify areas of strength and weakness.
My classes are based on the individual students needs regarding concept specific work or exam technique improvement, and backed up with past exam question practise.
I base my lessons on solving sample papers with students and guiding them towards the correct answer. My lessons are mainly targeted at GCSE and A-Level maths students but I am willing to help others if interested. I can also offer preparation for other exams.
I put a lot of emphasis on past papers and exam reports as its very important to read Examiner's Mind frame before attempting any paper.I use a vast resource of Past papers and Exam reports for my tutees for this.
I am a private tutor specialising in online tuition via skype in mathematics and the physical sciences. I am willing to provide ongoing tuition or one-off tailored revision sessions, depending on the needs of the students. - Which subject(s) do you teach? Mathematics and physics, from primary school up to A-level, plus university-level Physics. - Tell me about your qualifications.
I base my lessons on the requirements of my student(s). I have a lot of experience teaching mathematics to SEN students and so getting to know the student (SEN or not) and how I may help them to learn is my first priority. I design my lessons around what the student needs, making lessons as fun, varied and interactive as possible (depending on the topic, of course).
I approach each topic in a broad but thorough manner. I try to give examples and practices as much as I can and as much as I think the students will need. My classes are based on understanding the content first and then practice until mistakes cannot be made.
My main approach to teaching is through worked problems. I set some reading and a series of questions. In tutorials, I ask you to recall as best you can the definitions and ideas from the reading. Then I guide you through the solutions to the problems, discussing alternative approaches and explaining steps you have found difficult.
My teaching method is based on a Cambridge Tutorial- style approach. I like to discuss the subject matter with the student, getting them engaged and asking questions. After thorough explanation of the topic, I will then move onto assisting the student in answering questions. I like to challenge students to push their understanding, but will be there to guide and assist them throughout the process.
I believe in lots of practice, and explaining things from the fundamentals, so that my students can have a thorough understanding of the concept. No question is a silly question. I am a very easy-going person and so the lessons should not be stressful. I want you to enjoy learning.
My teaching method is to be as practical as possible. I give examples that the students can relate with. I believe that you have to be as friendly as possible with your students because at the end i know that one likes a subject more if he/ she likes his or her teacher. The teacher plays a very important role in shaping a student's interest.
I believe the most important thing when teaching is making sure the student understands why he should learn about a particular topic. Showcasing the practical applications of the theory to motivate studying it is crucial. I'd like to teach A-Level students and first-year undergrads.
I think it is very important to form a good relationship with my students, regardless of the level at which they are being taught. I am a very social and sporty person, and so I know how different a lesson can feel when being delivered in a more friendly and comfortable environment - I also have the skills to ensure the lesson is very productive and useful despite this.
My teaching method is to go over as many practice questions in order to gain practice and use those to go over background material to aid understanding
In my teaching, I believe it’s really important to make sure a student can understand how something works rather than just learning a method to do things. I believe in this and help them reach this understanding because it will help them build on this knowledge throughout the rest of their studies in maths.
I do everything in detail, focus more on the weaker side of the subject, try to make it as easy to remember
I base my teaching on assessing students needs first and then lead them to get to the new knowledge themselves.
I will base on the weakest topic for individual student first and work on questions then move on to the stronger topics.
I'm a first year biomedical science student, and have been a nanny. I completed A levels in Chemistry, Biology and Psychology and did my AS in business studies.
My most successful students have found my concept-based approach helpful. Often, the most challenging areas of GCSE/A-Level courses require a more descriptive and intuitive approach, rather than brute text-book learning. I plan lessons around class work my students are undertaking, to best compliment their learning.
I am a qualified secondary mathematics/physics teacher. I have bsc, MSC and PhD in mathematics. I have been tutoring since 1999. I have mainly been working in the software industry and used maths to solve problems in the real world. I enjoy imparting my knowledge on others.
My teaching method is specific to the preference of the individual I am dealing with, I understand that everyone is unique and I am willing to adapt to the different individuals.
My teaching method is to focus on true understanding of concepts rather than rote memorisation, so will introduce new topics and guide students through a few examples, getting them to talk through each step and eventually to explain the concept to me themselves.
I give lessons to those of varying abilities, from GCSE students to undergraduates. I formulate a tutorial to suit individual needs and levels of ability. In almost every case the tutorials are structured to compliment the curriculum and focus strongly on potential exam questions.
My approach to teaching is determined by the student(s), as opposed to the one size fits all philosophy. I believe maths can be fun even to the uninterested. While not everyone will go on to be a maths professor, I believe everyone can with the right mindset and guidance.
