About Bianca
I'm a PhD student in pharmaceutical sciences with a strong academic background in chemistry, biology, languages and academic writing. I’ve worked as both a university interpreter and tutor, and I’ve taught learners of all ages — from young children to university students. Teaching is something I truly enjoy. I love helping students understand difficult concepts and become more confident in their abilities. I’m especially good at working with shy or anxious learners, because I know what it’s like to feel too nervous to ask questions — I’m naturally quiet and understand how important it is to feel safe and supported during a lesson. I’m fluent in English and Afrikaans, professional, patient, and committed to helping you succeed — whether you’re catching up, preparing for exams, or just trying to improve your marks at your own pace. I take a calm, structured, and student-centred approach to tutoring. I believe in meeting students where they are, helping them understand concepts deeply rather than just memorising facts. I adapt my lessons to suit different learning styles, using real-world examples and step-by-step explanations to make complex topics more accessible.
I'm fluent in English and Afrikaans and can confidently teach in both. My experience as an academic interpreter has sharpened my ability to explain concepts clearly across different age groups and language backgrounds.
In a typical lesson, we’ll review key concepts, work through examples together, and tackle any problem areas the student is facing. I also give practical study tips and tools for building confidence and retaining information.
My lessons are ideal for high school and university students, as well as adult learners returning to science or academic writing. I’m especially suited to students who feel anxious about these subjects — I aim to create a supportive, encouraging space to help them thrive.
