About Ali

As a PhD candidate in physics with several years of tutoring experience, my goal is to help students not only succeed academically but also build confidence in their abilities. I understand that every student learns differently, and I tailor my approach to meet their individual needs. Whether you're tackling high school math or complex bachelor's-level physics, I am here to guide you through the material in a way that makes sense to you. What sets me apart is my commitment to making complex concepts easier to understand. I believe that learning should be engaging and relatable, so I use real-world examples to show how the topics we cover connect to everyday life. This approach helps students see the bigger picture and feel more confident in their understanding. Professionalism and reliability are at the heart of my tutoring sessions. I am committed to providing a supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, explore new ideas, and overcome challenges. Together, we’ll build the skills you need to succeed both in school and beyond.

Teaching Methods and Typical Lesson Plan:

In my tutoring sessions, I focus on creating a personalized learning experience that ensures students understand the connection between what they are learning and the real world. I always use simpler, practical examples from everyday life to help students grasp complex concepts more quickly. My teaching style is adaptable to each student’s individual needs, ensuring that they progress at their own pace with a deep understanding of the material.

For math, I guide students through algebra and geometry using step-by-step problem-solving techniques. At the bachelor's level, I focus on advanced physics concepts, helping students develop solid problem-solving skills for academic success.

Typical Lesson Plan:

Assessment and Review (5-10 minutes):
We begin each session by reviewing the previous lesson to ensure the student has a solid grasp of the material. I then address any specific questions or challenges the student may have faced.

Introduction to New Concepts (15-20 minutes):
New topics are introduced in simple, digestible steps, with real-world examples to demonstrate their practical relevance and help students better understand the material.

Guided Practice (20-25 minutes):
We work through problems together, focusing on applying new concepts while I provide guidance and encourage the student to explain their thought process.

Independent Practice (10-15 minutes):
The students practice solving problems independently, allowing me to observe their approach and provide feedback as needed, building confidence and reinforcing the lesson.

Recap and Homework Assignment (5 minutes):
We conclude with a review of key takeaways from the session and assign homework to solidify understanding further. I will also discuss what we’ll cover in the next lesson.
