About Tallon
I am a PhD Student at Queen Mary University of London and am part of the Macroeconomics research group. I am from the United States and moved to London in 2019 to study Economics. I previously studied Mathematics and Political Economy at the College of Idaho. I have been tutoring for about a year, only individual tutoring, but I am open to groups. All students I have worked with have had improved and passing grades. From my undergraduate years to now I regularly lead study groups so I do have experience working with groups.
I specialize in Macroeconomics, specifically in growth models, OLG, income and consumption dynamics, recursive methods, dynamic programming, time series analysis, bayesian econometrics, maximum likelihood, OLS.
I also have experience in consumer choice theory, game theory, and proofs based math or economics problems.
I am able to work in Matlab, Stata, R, SQLite, and LaTeX

I like to give context to abstract problems so that the topic is accessible. I believe tutoring to be a supplement to self study and focus on demonstrating the topic simply rather than testing the student. I will ask students to hand in their attempts at either problem sets or a piece of writing to gauge their understanding of the topic, as well as asking questions throughout the lesson. At the beginning of each lesson I will give background to problems, set goals for the lesson, and the demonstrate the steps towards finding the answer. I am also open to helping students write and revise papers.
