About Dmytro
Hi, I’m Dmytro. I hold a PhD in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh and have 12 years of teaching experience in Economics, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Game Theory.
During my academic career, I have taught and supported students at different levels, including students encountering economics for the first time and advanced university students working with more formal models. My background also includes strong training in mathematics and statistics, which helps me explain the technical side of economics clearly and patiently.
I focus on making students feel more confident with economic reasoning, graphs, models, equations, and problem sets. Students often come to me when they understand parts of the lecture but feel lost when they need to solve problems on their own. I help them identify what is missing, fill those gaps, and build a more systematic approach to studying economics.
My goal is to be professional, reliable, and supportive. I take students’ questions seriously, adapt my explanations to their level, and work step by step until the material becomes clearer.

My teaching style is clear, patient, and highly structured. I do not just give students formulas or definitions to memorize. Instead, I help them understand the logic behind economic models, graphs, equations, and problem-solving techniques. My goal is to make difficult concepts feel manageable and intuitive.
A typical lesson starts with a short discussion of what the student is currently studying and where they feel stuck. Then we work through the key ideas step by step, using examples, diagrams, and practice problems. If the student has homework, exam questions, lecture notes, or problem sets, we can use those directly. I also help students learn how to approach unfamiliar problems independently, which is especially useful for exams.
What sets me apart is my combination of advanced academic training and practical teaching experience. I have taught many students with different backgrounds, from those who are completely new to economics to advanced university students working on more technical material. I am especially good at breaking down abstract models into simple explanations and helping students connect theory to intuition.
My lessons are best suited for high school, college, and university students who need help with introductory economics, intermediate microeconomics, intermediate macroeconomics, game theory, problem sets, exam preparation, or general economic reasoning. I can also help students who understand the big ideas but struggle with graphs, mathematical notation, algebra, optimization, or other mathematical tools that often appear in economics courses.
If you want a tutor who can explain economics clearly, patiently, and step by step, I would be happy to help.
