About Yannick
I am called Dr. YANNICK BOUM. I am currently studying an MA in TESOL (Teaching of English to speakers of other languages) at the University of Manchester. It is a one-year Master's course. I was a university teacher in English language (TESOL Teacher) at the University of Yaounde I, Cameroon 5 years ago. He also taught French and English in some private postsecondary schools in Cameroon 5 years ago. I obtained the following: a PhD in English Language, an MA in English language and a BA in English and French Studies. All these degrees were gotten at the University of Yaounde I, Cameroon. My research interests include the following: English Language, TESOL, English Language teaching, Content and Language Integrated Teaching and Learning (CLIL), education, teaching and learning, pedagogy, cognitive sciences, language education and proficiency. I have published locally and internationally. I have already published six articles while others are still in press. Some of my publications in Academia.edu. I am one of the reviewers of the Journal entitled “International Journal of English Language and Literature.” I received a reviewer’s award from the SIG TETP of the CIES. I am currently an associate editor of the International Journal of English Language Teaching, a member of the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES, Illinois, USA) and a permanent reviewer of manuscripts meant for publication in the International Journal of English Literature and English Language.

A student-centred and very interesting lessons with scaffoldings. I focus on tenses in English especially for the beginner level. Such learners are expected to build sentences from regular and irregular verbs they are taught. They are expected to construct correct sentences in all the tenses in English. Here the four English skills (namely speaking, writing, reading and listening) are emphasised and taught. A basic grammar book is used to teach them grammar. Received pronunciation (RP) is taught and learnt in the classroom with practical tasks. An emphasis is also laid on communicative/functional grammar. As for intermediate level, the focus is still on tenses together with an intermediary English grammar book. The four English skills are also emphasised and taught. The same is applied for advanced learners of English. That is in short all I can say about my interesting and engaging lessons.
