I am very fond of making learning fun! I try to incorporate many practical elements within sessions to make learning more fun and engaging for students! I believe that learning practically has a positive impact on students learning as children are more likely to remember and reflect on the session!
I can teach all areas of English: English language and literature up to A-Level. For English langauge I like to focus on the four main core skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing and for literature I take the same approach as I was taught at the Univesity of Cambridge: close anaysis of text and contextual considerations to come towards main ideas elicited in the text.
My teaching method comprises of active learning. I keep my students engaged rather than them having to listen to me talking. After I have explained the key concepts, I usually have a set of problems ready for them to practice.
Kevin Hiscutt Primary Educator Manchester ENGLAND 1.
Hi I am Katie! I am 21 years old, currently studying a Masters in 'Developmental and Therapeutic Play' at Swansea University. Previously, I have gained a First Class Honours degree in 'Childhood Studies' at Bangor University. I live in the Brynmill area. I am a confident, very patient individual.
I tailor my teaching to suit the needs of individual pupils. I begin by identifying any gaps in learning and then use a range of fun, engaging and effective teaching techniques to target these gaps. Pupils will be able to succeed academically and will have increased confidence, self-belief and a positive mind-set.
My teaching method is fairly relaxed but at the same time ensuring that they know and learn everything they need to. I like to read to students, create and play games that aid in remembering words for exams, analysing poetry or prose, and generally trying to fit the teaching to the needs of the individual child.
The way I would teach would be first to see how well the students read and this would be done by choosing a book with them that they'd be interested in, after assessing how well they ready I would construct activities that would help in where they struggle.
I believe that for learning to be meaningful and successful then it needs to be rooted in concrete or real-life situations that children can relate to. I work hard to engage children with a variety of approaches, thematic links to the wider curriculum or to their own interests.
My teaching focuses more on younger students and adults at beginner level. I have often times used various exercises to introduce the subject and get a feel as to what the student can do. I will provide set literary texts if wanted or I can adapt to specific texts that the student is studying although I will have to know in advance.
I follow a child led approach when teaching and feel that investing time building a trusting relationship with the children I am teaching is valuable. Children learn best when they feel safe. I build their learning around their interests while following the growth mindset model of learning - that making mistakes is not something to fear, but something to help improve our learning.
I am an Archaeology undergraduate student looking to teach English (literature and language) and History to primary and secondary school pupils. I am also able to tutor for an 11+ exam; having studied at a grammar school, I have personal experience of these skills.
I like to put myself in the characters shoes, see what life is like from their point of view to understand their emotions. I can also help create stories based on real life hardships. I always work at the students pace and do whatever is possible to support them.
I ensure the student is listened to. I work with the student to help them feel comfortable as every student is different it is important for me to help personalise each session for them. I try to get students to lead sessions to help boost confidence and to also understand what areas we need to target.
My teaching method is finding what suits that individual. We are not all the same so therefore we can not learn in the same way! Whatever suits that child's learning technique is how I will adapt my teaching for them.
I am a friendly and confident tutor with excellent reading and English skills. I am keen to help students develop their reading and literacy skills, as I feel reading is an important skill. I offer fun, creative and supportive sessions to support anyone in need. Assistance with reading at any level using break-down techniques.
I am a history student living in Manchester and an avid reader.
I will be giving lessons to primary and secondary students. I am flexible with what my students want me to teach. I will focus on the areas in which they are weak while enhancing what they are already familiar with.
My teaching is primarily student - centred. Rather than 'lecturing', I aim to elicit the maximum possible feedback from my student(s). I always review taught material, again, in a student - centred fashion.
I am an ACCA affiliate and M.com with 3 years of teaching experience at home. I have taught more than 25 students. I start each lecture with a story that helps student to develop an interest in the topic. further more i involve students in lecture by constantly asking question. i helps them to listen attentively and remember things easily.
My teaching method primarily depends on the student that I am teaching. I will try and work to their strengths and weaknesses and create a suitable lesson plan that will fully benefit their working and learning styles. I will work with you to achieve the goals that you set out.
I love to play games, to aid memory retention and to use art, drama and other creative subjects within my teaching too
I use a fun and interactive approach with a friendly manner. I bring all my own resources and tailor each lesson to the child. I use a flexible and intuitive approach to find gaps in learning and fill those gaps in order to enhance learning. I am a big believer in building children's confidence through praise and encouragement and also promoting a life long love of learning.
I like to read extracts and answer a short variety of questions based all around the text that was given
I have many ways on teaching a student. One of this is approaching them if they didn't know the lesson being given to them.
With a love of reading myself, I am keen to give reading lessons to primary and secondary school age children, supporting any help and official programmes they are currently receiving at school by either following the same programme, following a different programme, or simply casually exploring the world of literature with the child.
