About Fran
Hi everyone, my name is Fran and I am a physics graduate studying a PhD at the University of Sheffield. During my master's degree, I became a lab demonstrator for undergraduate labs. Within this role, I outlined the objectives for the day and talked through the physics theory applied to the lab exercise. I enjoyed working in the undergraduate lab so much that I decided I wanted to continue with teaching. During my PhD I was a graduate teaching assistant in the engineering and physics undergraduate labs in Sheffield but I would also like to gain more teaching experience for secondary school ages. I currently host tutoring sessions at my home in Nether Edge.

My approach to tutoring includes reviewing teachers' class notes, working through past papers and textbook exercises together. I offer one or two hours classes, depending on your needs, for GCSE chemistry, physics, and mathematics. My qualifications include: - BSc Applied Physics (NUI Galway) 2:1 - MSc Applied Physics (NUI Galway) 1:1 - Final year PhD student at the University of Sheffield studying superalloy development.
