About Matthew
I hold a PhD in Theoretical Mathematics, along with an MSc and BSc in Mathematics and a BSc in Physics. Over the past ten years, I’ve gained extensive experience both in industry and in teaching, which allows me to bring real-world perspective as well as academic depth to my tutoring. I’ve taught mathematics courses myself and have worked with students at every level—from high school to advanced university study. This experience has taught me how to adapt to different learning styles and help students build confidence, whether they are aiming to master the basics or dive deeper into advanced topics.

I’m a mathematician with a PhD, Master’s, and BSc in Mathematics, and I love helping students feel confident with math. My teaching style is all about understanding where you’re coming from and explaining ideas at a deeper, more conceptual level—so you don’t just memorize formulas, you actually get it.
In a typical lesson, we’ll review your goals, work through concepts step by step, and practice problems together. I make sure lessons are clear, supportive, and never overwhelming.
What makes me different is my ability to break down tough ideas into simple explanations while keeping the learning process comfortable and encouraging.
My lessons are great for high school and college students—whether you’re preparing for exams, tackling tough coursework, or wanting to explore math more deeply.
