About Panos
I am a PhD-qualified Mechanical Engineer and Senior Researcher based in Glasgow, with a background in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Energy Systems, Thermodynamics, CFD, combustion, and decarbonisation.
My research has focused on cleaner and more efficient energy systems and alternative fuels. Over the years, I have worked on several funded research projects, published in peer-reviewed journals, and collaborated with academic and industrial partners. My work has also been recognised through scholarships and research awards, including awards for MSc studies, academic development, and conference presentations.
I enjoy teaching because I know how difficult technical subjects can feel when they are not explained clearly. My aim is to make complex engineering and mathematical concepts easier to understand, without oversimplifying them. I focus on clear explanations, practical examples, and step-by-step problem solving.
I work professionally and patiently with each student, adapting the lesson to their level, goals, and pace. Whether you need help with exams, coursework, assignments, or research-related work, I will help you build confidence and develop a stronger technical understanding.

My tutoring approach is personalised, structured, and strongly focused on understanding. I first identify each student’s level, objectives, and difficulties, then adapt the lesson plan accordingly. My teaching combines clear theoretical explanations, step-by-step problem solving, practical engineering examples, and exam-style exercises.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, although longer sessions can be arranged for coursework, exam preparation, or research support.
I hold a PhD in Marine Engineering and have extensive research experience in mechanical engineering, energy systems, thermodynamics, CFD, combustion, and decarbonisation, with multiple peer-reviewed publications and funded research projects.
My lessons are suitable for university students, MSc students, PhD candidates, and advanced high-school students who need support in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mathematics, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, CFD, and related technical subjects.
