About Vicky
I work with students who want more than basic tutoring. I help you produce high-quality academic work that meets top university standards.
I am an Oxford graduate and hold a PhD in History from a Russell Group university. Alongside academia, I have worked in UK government and consulting, which means I bring both academic rigour and real-world analytical skills into my teaching.
I support students across the full process:
-defining a strong research question
-structuring arguments clearly
-improving critical analysis
-refining academic writing and referencing
My experience includes:
-200+ students supported at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral level
-essays and dissertations achieving First-class and 2:1 grades
mentoring students into top universities (Oxford, Cambridge, UCL, Harvard, MIT)
-supporting early-career researchers to publish in peer-reviewed journals
I specialise in:
-history, politics, sociology, and related disciplines
-academic writing and argumentation
-dissertation and thesis development
-personal statements and applications
If you are stuck, overwhelmed, or aiming for top grades, I will help you move from confusion to a clear, structured, high-quality piece of work.

Sessions are structured, practical, and tailored to your specific work.
Typical support includes:
-reviewing your draft and giving detailed, actionable feedback
-improving structure, argument, and clarity
-breaking down complex readings and theories
-planning essays and dissertations step by step
I work in three main formats:
-Live sessions (Zoom/Teams): interactive feedback and guidance as well as tutoring / explaining complicated theories and concepts
-Document review: detailed written comments on your draft
-Ongoing support: step-by-step guidance across your assignment or dissertation
I focus on helping you develop independent thinking and strong academic writing, not just fixing a single piece of work.

I would highly recommend Vicky. I first contacted her for my eldest daughter who was studying A Level Ancient Greek. She got an 'A'. We used her again for her younger sister (exactly the same circumstances). The lessons were done online in both cases as Vicky lived in Birmingham. Again, she got an 'A'.
Both girls really enjoyed their time spent with Vicky, as she is a friendly and approachable tutor who often shares many cultural references as a native Greek. Both my daughters confirm that their success is largely due to Vicky’s ongoing support and encouragement. If you're thinking about contacting Vicky, don't hesitate.Vicky is a extremely reliable, friendly and highly qualified Greek teacher. The classes are challenging, and I learnt a lot.
When I got in touch with Vicky, I knew no Greek at all. Vicky helped me build confidence in speaking Greek and improve my accent. What I enjoyed the most about her lessons, was the interactive techniques she used to help me memorise proverbs and other words.
The lessons are generally very structured, and she always sent me video recordings of our lessons so I could review the material.
In summary, Vicky is a nice and fun person who I really enjoyed learning from and would gladly recommend!Vicky is a fantastic tutor, she helped me through my GCSE Latin to achieve my predicted grade this summer. Her encouraging and thorough approach set my mind at ease and enabled me to make the logical steps needed towards my goal (in my case, Latin-to-English translation).
She is a lovely and generous person, who will tailor the lesson to your needs. She always does so with confidence, always faithful to your abilities and strengths.
I couldn't recommend Vicky highly enough!
