About Brian
I am a PhD in psychology and an associate professor with over 20 years of teaching experience in higher education. In my time as an instructor, I've taught everyone from first-year undergraduate students all the way up to doctoral candidates working on their dissertations. I specialize in tutoring and supporting students in traditionally anxiety-provoking courses like statistics and research methods, but I tutor in all areas of psychology.

I use principles of adult learning theory to make the material come alive for my students. I don't aim to simply teach; my goal is to help students learn and retain information. A typical lesson with me includes a review of the lecture content, an assessment of obstacles to learning, and then some tailored practice questions that zero in on the specific areas where we need to focus. I use a relaxed, collaborative approach with my students to be sure they are "getting it". I have experience teaching an array of students, from high school students in AP psychology all the way up to doctoral candidates.
