About Hallam
My name is Hallam, and I am a doctoral researcher specialising in international law, space law, cybersecurity and security studies. I hold a Distinction-level LLM and currently work as an acting university course coordinator and law essay marker. My teaching is informed by practical experience of university assessment, academic research and professional technology-risk consultancy.
I am approachable, patient and committed to creating a supportive learning environment in which students feel comfortable asking questions. Alongside subject knowledge, I bring extensive leadership, coaching and public-speaking experience, allowing me to explain difficult concepts clearly and adapt my communication to different learners. Whether a student needs help with English, academic writing, essay structure, law or advanced specialist topics, I offer reliable, carefully prepared and professional support tailored to their goals.

I'm a PhD researcher, award-winning public speaker, and acting university course coordinator who helps students write with clarity, structure arguments persuasively, and build genuine confidence in English. My approach is practical and personalised: we work directly on your own essays, break down what strong writing looks like, and develop repeatable techniques you can reuse in any subject. I teach academic writing, English, essay technique, referencing, and study skills, with particular expertise in law and international relations essays — as an experienced law essay marker, I know exactly what examiners reward. Lessons typically run 60 minutes and suit school pupils, A-level students, and university learners of all abilities. I also offer specialist tutoring in international law, space law, and cybersecurity law for advanced and postgraduate students.
