About Albert
Outside of my PhD research at the University of Essex, I am someone who is passionate about the humanities. I moved to Colchester to pursue my advanced studies, but I’ve always found that the most rewarding part of my academic journey is helping others discover how fascinating history, politics, and sociology truly are.
I first started teaching by mentoring my university peers through their demanding coursework. For me, tutoring is about sharing my enthusiasm for these subjects and helping you feel completely confident in your ability to analyse sources, build arguments, and think critically. I love the challenge of taking a topic that feels tough or overwhelming to a student and turning it into their favourite subject.

Option 1: The Direct Adaptation (Warm & Engaging)
I’m a PhD researcher at the University of Essex, and I love helping students find their confidence in the humanities, whether that’s History, Politics, Sociology, or Geography. My approach is all about making these subjects feel engaging and relevant, rather than just a list of dates or theories to memorise. Having spent years mentoring fellow university students to success, I know exactly how to break down complex historical events, tricky political concepts, and demanding exam techniques for everyone from KS3 right up to A-Level. I keep my lessons flexible, usually starting at an hour, to ensure we have plenty of time to work on your essay structuring, source analysis, and taking the stress out of exam prep. Whether we meet in person around Colchester or online, I’m here to help you move past just reading the textbook and start thinking critically to achieve top grades!
