About Jingwen

My academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in Music from a conservatoire, two Master's degrees in Music Education and Piano Performance, and ongoing PhD research in Musicology. Teaching style and materials are adapted to each student's individual needs, with a focus on reflective practice and building a collaborative, supportive relationship with every student.

About the lesson

Student-centred private piano lessons (30–45 minutes), tailored to each learner's pace and goals. I adapt teaching materials flexibly based on each student's level and needs, drawing from a range of methods and repertoire. With 8 years of teaching experience in both Mandarin and English, I have helped students achieve Distinction and Merit grades in ABRSM exams. All levels are welcome — from complete beginners to students preparing to apply for music-related degrees at the university level.
To ensure the best fit between teacher and student, the first free lesson is a 30-minute consultation and level assessment (via Zoom/Google Meet), rather than a full teaching session. This helps us design a personalised learning plan tailored to your needs from lesson one.
